We decided to kick off our wedding weekend with a welcome party at our venue’s on-site lounge/sports bar and bowling alley. This was such a fun way for us to greet our guests, almost all of whom traveled from different corners of the country, and have time to mingle with everyone without the time restraints and pressures of our actual wedding day. We are so grateful we had this time with everyone at the beginning of our weekend.

We held our ceremony in the wine cave underneath the vineyards at The Meritage. We always wanted an intimate setting to deliver our vows to each other, and this felt like the perfect place. The lighting was romantic, the music from our live violinists sang beautifully through the space, and it was a nice relief for everyone from the heat of a typical summer day in Napa.

We then asked our guests to make the journey up through the vineyards above the cave to arrive at our cocktail hour and dinner reception. One thing that was very important to us was having dinner among the vines – we decided to host our wedding in Napa for a reason, after all! And the opportunity to be surrounded by the beauty of a vineyard as we shared our first dance and meal with our favorite people in the world was impossible to pass up.

For the latter part of the evening, we went back down to the wine cave. The space had been transformed for dancing and lounging, and had dessert stations and bars ready for everyone to celebrate the rest of the evening. We had a blast dancing with our friends and family, and enjoying the final hours of our special day.
